Post-It Stories

I’ve been reading some of my old journals lately (from the mid-to-late ’90s). I wanted to revisit that time, primarily because I have two writing projects with college-aged protagonists. I’ve been going back to those journals to see what themes I kept returning to, what I was obsessing over at that age, etc.

At that time, I included more quotes and work by other people in my journals than I tend to now. I’d capture snippets and thoughts that interested me. But I didn’t do a very good job of capturing who wrote them or where I pulled them from. For instance, I cut these quotes out from somewhere and pasted them into my journal. But where? I have zero information about where I’d read or found them.

Post-It Story #71
Why didn’t I keep better notes, I wondered?

Thanks to the handy-dandy internet, I discovered that these “Post-It Stories” were written by Narciso Jaramillo. I wonder if he’s thought about them much recently. Either way, they brought me joy, both then and now. Thanks for writing them, NJ.
